EV Works offers comprehensive service and repair for Tesla Model S, Model X, Model 3, and Model Y. Our technicians have extensive hands-on experience with the Tesla platform . From routine maintenance and thermal system repairs to high voltage diagnostics and component replacement.
We're not a dealer, and we don't pretend to be everything to everyone. We'll always tell you upfront whether a job is within our current scope, and we're expanding our capabilities as the shop grows. Read more to see what we can do for your Tesla today.
Available services
Routine Maintenance
Keeping your Tesla running well doesn't take much, but the basics still matter. We provide factory-level maintenance across all models we service.

- Cooling system drain and fill
- Drive unit fluid drain and fill
- Brake caliper cleaning and lubrication
- Air conditioning recovery and recharge (R-134a systems only — see note below)
High Voltage System
Tesla's high voltage architecture is what we're built for. We can diagnose and repair a wide range of HV system concerns across all platforms, with the tools and knowledge to do it safely.
- Charging concerns diagnosis and repair
- Onboard charger diagnosis and repair
- HV isolation failure diagnosis
- HVIL (High Voltage Interlock Loop) fault diagnosis
- General HV electrical diagnosis
- High voltage warning light diagnosis
- Pyro fuse replacement — Model X (all), Model 3/Y (all), Model S (post-2016 refresh only)
Note: HV battery removal, replacement, and rebuild require equipment we are not yet set up for. See our limitations section below.
Thermal System & HVAC
Tesla's thermal management system handles battery conditioning, cabin comfort, and power electronics cooling all at once. We can service most of these components in-house.
- Water pump replacement (all models)
- PTC heater replacement (all models)
- Cabin HVAC diagnosis (Model S, Model 3/Y)
- 4-way and 3-way thermal valve replacements (Model S, Model X)
- Evaporator cleaning for mildew and odor concerns (Model 3/Y)
Drivetrain Components
We handle fluid maintenance and drivetrain hardware on all platforms. Full drive unit removal and replacement currently requires a 2-post lift. (See our limitations section for details)
- Drive unit fluid drain and fill
- CV axle halfshaft replacement
- Axle seal replacement
12-Volt Electrical System
- 12-volt battery replacement
- Electrical diagnosis — lights, seat motors, locks, windows, wipers, and more
- Key fob programming (Model S, Model X)
- Key card programming (Model 3/Y)
Driver Assistance Features & Cameras
- Parking sensor / ultrasonic sensor replacement (all models)
- Side marker and B-pillar camera replacement (all models)
- Rearview camera replacement (all models)
- Front radar sensor replacement (all models)
Note: Forward-facing camera replacement requires a dedicated calibration target tool we are currently sourcing. We can install the camera, but in-house calibration is not yet available.
Chassis & Brakes
- Brake service — fluid flush, calipers, pads, rotors, and electronic parking brake (all models)
- Air suspension calibration (all models equipped with air suspension)
- Steering repairs — tie rods, steering rack, EPAS (Model S and Model X)
- Suspension components — wheel bearings, control arms, linkages, struts, springs, and bushings (Model S and Model X)
- Highland suspension upgrade (Model 3/Y)
Interior
- Seat and trim panel replacement
- Touchscreen replacement
- Instrument cluster screen replacement (Model S, Model X)
Closures & Body
- Window glass replacement
- Window regulator and controls diagnosis
- Latching mechanisms — charge port, hood, doors, and liftgate
- Door handle repair (Model S, Model 3/Y)
- Panel gap adjustments
- Powered door diagnosis and repair (Model X)
- Falcon Wing door actuator replacement (Model X)
- Falcon Wing door ultrasonic sensor replacement (Model X)
What We Can't Do Yet — And Why
We believe in being straight with you before you drive out here. Several procedures in Tesla's service manual are designed around equipment that we don't have yet, and we won't cut corners on jobs that require them.
Services we cannot currently perform:
- Drive unit removal and replacement (all models)
- Inverter replacement (Model 3/Y) and inverter seal upgrade (Model S)
- HV battery removal, replacement, and rebuild (all models)
- Pre-2016 Model S pyro fuse replacement (requires battery removal access on some models)
A couple of other current limitations worth knowing:
- Air conditioning: We support R-134a refrigerant systems. Vehicles using R-1234yf (found in newer Model 3/Y variants) are not currently serviceable for A/C work at our shop.
- Forward-facing cameras: We can replace the hardware, but cannot perform the final calibration step in-house at this time.
We're actively investing in shop equipment and expanding what we can offer. If you're not sure whether your repair is within scope, just reach out! We'll give you a straight answer.
